Mike Edwards, Chairman

Mike is the Proprietor of one of Aberdeen's most established, and well known family run hotels. The Mariner Hotel is located in the Westend of Aberdeen, and it's award winning restaurant specailises in seafood dishes. Mike and his team are committed to offering their guests a warm welcome and excellent service. Mike believes that training is at the heart of his hotel's success!

Peter Walker, Vice Chairman

Peter is the General Manager at 4-star Meldrum House Country Hotel.  Following a multi-million pound refurbishment in 2016, the hotel now boasts 51 bedrooms, a Ballroom and 2 Red Rosette Dining Room.  With Peter at the helm, the hotel has won many awards, most notably they are past winners of AA Hotel of the Year for Scotland.  Peter won Regional Ambassador at the Aberdeen City and Shire Tourism Awards in November 2017.  Most recently, he has been awarded the prestigious Master Innholder title, one of the youngest to receive it in the UK.

Nigel Franks, Honorary Treasurer

Nigel Franks is the proprietor of the Darroch Learg Hotel that has been owned by the Franks family for over 50 years. The hotel has won various accolades, including the Good Hotel Guide and Scotland the Best (amongst the best of its type in the UK). The Darroch Learg has one of the best restaurants in the region and has been accredited with 3 AA Rosettes for Culinary Excellence.

Jeff Purves, Chef Representative

For 13 years Jeff Purves was owner and head chef at the Green Inn restaurant in Ballater. Jeff specializes in local products to make regional dishes, and is currently a Chef Consultant. He has strong views on food and on the way food is marketed, and the training of young chefs in Scotland. Jeff was crowned Grampian Seafood Chef of the Year 2007.
