Health & Safety for Managers

There are 3 main reasons for Managing Health & Safety in the Workplace:

  • Moral - Employees have a fundamental right to a safe working- environment
  • Economic - Accidents cost money
  • Legal -The law must be obeyed and there are sanctions for non-compliance

It is the duty of every employer to appoint one or more competent persons to assist him in undertaking measures to comply with the requirements imposed on him by relevant statutory provisions. The appointed person should have relevant training to enable these measures to be taken.
