Hospitality SCQF Level 4/5

The Foundation Apprenticeship in Hospitality introduces students to a variety of careers within the hospitality sector, including hotel management, catering, and event planning. Through a mix of practical experience and theoretical learning, students will develop key skills in customer service, teamwork, and leadership.

The course covers important areas such as

  • Food preparation

  • Restaurant food and drink service

  • Health and Safety and Food Safety

  • Event management

  • It also helps build essential business skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and communication, which are crucial across many industries.

 

This provides students with the foundational knowledge required to succeed in the fast-paced world of hospitality and a placement within a local business gives them the opportunity to practice these new skills

This course offers students the chance to work with industry professionals, gaining valuable insight into the realities of a career in hospitality. Upon completion, students can either continue their education, pursue a full-time job, or move on to an advanced apprenticeship.

This FA can be chosen from S4-S6 in the school subject choices. It is equivalent to a National 5 qualification.

The course is delivered by tutors with industry experience and fully qualified chefs

Foundation Apprenticeship (FA) in Food and Drink Technologies SCQF Level 6

The Foundation Apprenticeship in Food and Drink Technologies prepares students for a range of exciting roles within the food and beverage industry. It combines classroom learning with real-world work experience working with local employers.

It allows students to explore various careers and sectors;

  • Food manufacturing

  • Product development

  • Quality assurance

  • Supply chain management.

  • It also helps build essential business skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and communication, which are crucial across many industries.

By engaging with real-world work environments, students can decide whether this field aligns with their interests and career goals. Ultimately, the Foundation Apprenticeship provides a clear advantage in making well-informed career decisions and enhances employability in a rapidly growing and diverse sector.

This FA can be chosen from S5-S6 in the school subject choices. It is equivalent to a Higher qualification.

The course is delivered by tutors with industry experience and placements take place within employers based in the Northeast of Scotland
